Michel Gautier, Microbial Spoilers in Food 2013 Scientific Committee Member Michel Gautier, from Agrocampus (France)

He is a microbiologist with strong expertise on foodborne pathogenic flora, positive flora involved in dairy fermented products and bacteriophages. He is a specialist in molecular biology and rather on the construction of genetically modified microorganisms.

He is currently Professor in Agrocampus Ouest which is a higher education and research public Institute of the French Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries. He is the director of the microbiology laboratory, part of STLO research INRA unit, focusing on the microbiology of eggs and eggproducts and more particularly on spoilage flora of egg and bactericidal activity of egg white.

He has the responsibility of the economic valorization of research in Agrocampus Ouest. He is an expert in ANSES (French Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety) and was the co-founder with Gabriel Festoc of a company called GeneSystems which developed a robot, tools and kits for Quantitative PCR for the detection and enumeration of food and environmental microorganisms.

Finally, he is legal expert at the Court of Appeal of Rennes.
